Announced in April 2018, the Fall 2018 Tour was the first official tour by The Midnight. Prior to the tour, they had mostly done one-off shows. Most shows were in the Western US alongside a few cities in the Northeast. Three shows were also performed in Canada. The Spring 2019 Tour saw The Midnight visit Europe and Australia for the first time. The European dates were announced in June 2018 and the North American dates were added in October 2018. Two Australian dates in Melbourne and Sydney were announced in April 2019 to accompany the band's already planned appearance at the Splendour in the Grass festival. The lineup consisted of Tim McEwan on synths and Tyler Lyle on guitar and vocals. The role of saxophonist rotated throughout the tour, with Jacob Scesney and Lito Hernandez performing in Europe and the first batch of North American dates prior to Jesse Molloy taking over for the summer North American dates. Announced in February 2019, the Fall 2019 Tour was The Midnight's third tour and was notable for the addition of Lelia Broussard to the touring lineup as a bass and guitar player. Broussard, who is one half of the music duo Jupiter Winter, won the role through an audition and has remained as a guitarist with the band ever since. Since joining, she has also contributed to the writing and instrumentation of a few The Midnight songs alongside fellow Jupiter Winter member Royce Whittaker, who himself would later join The Midnight's touring lineup in 2020. The final show of the tour, which took place in London, was the band's 100th show. The lineup consisted of Tim McEwan on synths, Tyler Lyle on guitar and vocals, Jesse Molloy on saxophone, and Lelia Broussard on bass and guitar. The Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 Tour was The Midnight's first tour since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dates for a Spring 2021 Tour in Europe were announced in the summer of 2020 before being pushed back to the following year. The North American dates were announced in April 2021. In March 2022, it was announced that all European dates except for the UK and Ireland were canceled due to continuing COVID-19 concerns. Several notable changes were made to band's live format during this tour. First appearing during The Midnight Online, Royce Whittaker was added as a full-time touring member, playing guitar alongside fellow Jupiter Winter member Lelia Broussard. For the first time, Tim McEwan played with a full drum kit. The November 27 show in Los Angeles was streamed live on Veeps. The line up consisted of Tim McEwan on drums, Tyler Lyle on guitar and vocals, Jesse Molloy on saxophone, Lelia Broussard on bass and guitar, and Royce Whittaker on guitar. During the spring North American dates, Molloy and Whittaker were replaced by Justin Klunk and Chris Kuffner, respectively. Whittaker returned to the lineup after the conclusion of the tour, with Klunk staying on as the band's saxophonist. The Change Your Heart Tour saw The Midnight return to Europe (outside of the UK and Ireland) for the first time since 2019. The North American dates were announced in April 2022 with European dates being announced in September 2022. The tour began right after the release of the band's fifth album Heroes (and is named after the song Change Your Heart or Die) and as such the songs from that album were a focal point of the setlist. There were no new additions to the touring lineup, which consisted of Tim McEwan on drums, Tyler Lyle on guitar and vocals, Lelia Broussard on bass and guitar, Royce Whittaker on guitar, and Justin Klunk on saxophone. Supporting acts on the tour were Nightly, Bryce Menchaca, Goose, Pol, and Saint Raymond. | |||||||||||||
